Find an advertisement that you believe has an image in it that has been digitally altered or enhanced. Save this image on your blog post and the link that you got it from. type a response to these questions in your blog: Where did you get this image (cite it)? Krebs, Joel. “Just Collecting.” Just Collecting, 2015, www.justcollecting.com/advertising- memorabilia/cultural-icons-in-modern-advertisements. Why do you think this image has been digitally altered or enhanced? The obvious thing is that Elvis Presley died way before technology, but if you also look at the original photo, the colors and background are a bit altered. Do you find that the editing done to the image enhances the advertisement? why or why not? Yes, the use of Elvis as the model for the headphones subconsciously makes the viewer associate Beats with the musical icon status that Elvis possesses. What is the visual communication that is sent through this imagery? Elvis is a music icon and the image of him wearing Beats is a good marketing strategy to endorse the brand. |
